Main Carp Lake

This carp lake is situated in a valley surrounded by woodland on three sides. It is in a very sheltered location, with trees and plants around the banks. There is a small island in the lake and varying depths to add interest to the fishing.

The lake is well stocked with carp up to approx. 20lbs ( although fishermen have reported seeing larger! ) The swims are easily accessible with mown grass paths around three sides and a wide stone path along one side. The lake fishes well for most of the year with a variety of baits - low oil carp pellets, luncheon meat, worms and most basic baits. (ground bait not permitted)

We ask for a minimum 10lb line to be used on this lake, along with landing mats and carp landing nets. No keep nets. Poles are not permitted on this lake.

For our fishing rules please see the booking form.

Tench Lakes

One tench lake is situated in front of the smaller lodges and is easily accessible with mown grass paths around the edge. The lake is very well stocked with tench up to 6.1 lbs. and will give any fisherman hours of fun with plenty of catches. The lake extends to around threequarters of an acre with varying depths and an island.

The second tench lake ( Kingfisher ) is in a more secluded spot beyond Woodpecker Lake. This attractive lake is sheltered by trees, it has an island, lily pads, irises and plenty of other vegetation with deer grazing close by.

Mixed Lake

The mixed lake is over 1 acre in size, with varying depths. The lake is sheltered and surrounded by woodland. Many water plants can be found around the edges, which provide an attractive environment for the fish and fisherman.

The lake is stocked with a high density of fish, which include carp, bream, tench, roach, dace and crucian carp. This lake provides excellent fishing for all ages and abilities and can be fished throughout the year. The paths around the lake are mown weekly and are flat and easily accessible. With over fifteen purpose built pegs there is plenty of space for everyone. Recommended baits: Bread punch, maggots, luncheon meat and sweet corn. Tench: Sweet corn, luncheon meat and maggots

Woodpecker Lake

These lakes were created in October 2006. Planting was started during the winter and the lakes were stocked during the Spring and Summer 2007. The lakes were opened for fishing in March 2008 and have proved to be very popular with catches reported of up to 150lbs of fish in a day.

This lake has carp up to 16lbs. Fishing platforms extend into the lake and the lake has islands, ledges, shallow and deep areas to add interest for the fish and the fisherman. Sheltered by woodland on one side.

The lakes can be accessed by walking through the wood or by following the grass track from the camping area.

There is a smaller stock lake at the top of the camping field which is well stocked with carp and fairly easily accessible - this gives fun fishing for all the family.
